🐝 Spring is Here

New Taco Spot, Store Openings, & More

Your guide to staying connected in Franklin, TN

Good day Franklin.

Tomorrow marks the official first day of spring with the spring equinox, when day and night are nearly equal and we start getting a little more daylight each evening. The forecast over the next week is looking about as good as it gets. Sunshine, mild temps, and the kind of weather that makes you want to be outside.

March Madness is officially underway, which means it’s only a matter of time before a mid-major Cinderella goes on a run that busts everyone’s brackets.

Around town, things are picking up as well. New restaurants are opening, local spots are getting busier, and Franklin is starting to feel alive again. It is one of the best times of year to be here.

Let’s get to it.

New Release - Franklin Children’s Book
A new children’s book is hitting shelves this week, and it’s one that feels especially close to home for Franklin families.

Sweet Dreams, Franklin officially released this Tuesday and is believed to be the first children’s bedtime story centered entirely around life here in Franklin. The book was written by local mom and author Gabrielle Waary and illustrated by another Franklin mom, Andrea Silva, making it a true hometown project.

The story follows a simple, familiar rhythm as it says goodnight to the places and moments that make Franklin what it is. Think streets, landmarks, and the everyday spots families pass by all the time. It’s the kind of book where both kids and parents will recognize pieces of their own routine.

One of the more meaningful parts of the process came during editing. A fourth grade class at Franklin Elementary helped review the manuscript, giving students a chance to be part of a real book before it was published. It’s a small detail, but one that really reflects the community behind it.

You’ll be able to find the book locally at Landmark Booksellers, along with Patina Home & Garden, White’s Mercantile, and Hester & Cook.

It’s a fun addition for local families and a pretty cool way for kids to see their hometown come to life on the page.

New Taco Spot opens in Franklin
A new taco spot has opened in Cool Springs, taking over the former Wilco Fusion space on Carothers Parkway.

The Taco Shop, which started in Murfreesboro, is a pretty straightforward, no-frills concept focused on Mexican street food like tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and tortas. What’s getting some early attention are a few of the less typical items, including birria ramen and their pizza-style birria.

It’s the kind of place that works just as well for a quick lunch as it does for an easy, casual dinner. They also offer a daily happy hour in the afternoons with discounted street tacos, which makes it an easy option to swing by.

Nothing overly fancy here. That is part of the appeal. It is solid, affordable food in a convenient location for the Cool Springs crowd.

L.L. Bean Franklin Store Opening Date
A well-known outdoor brand is officially on the way to Franklin, and now we have a better idea of when it’s opening.

L.L.Bean has announced that its first Tennessee store is expected to open in July 2026, marking a notable expansion into the Southeast.

The Franklin location will be part of a broader national rollout, but locally, it’s shaping up to be a strong addition to the Cool Springs retail mix. Signage at CoolSprings Galleria has already hinted at the brand’s arrival, with the store expected to take over a former big-box retail space inside the mall.

For those unfamiliar, L.L.Bean is best known for its classic outdoor apparel, boots, and gear, with a reputation built on durability and a more timeless, lifestyle-driven approach to the outdoors. The company has been leaning more into physical retail in recent years, focusing on stores that feel experiential rather than purely transactional.

Still several months out, but this is one of the more anticipated retail openings on the horizon for Franklin.
