Your guide to staying connected in Franklin, TN
Good morning Franklin.
As many of you are well aware, over the July 4th weekend, Central Texasâs Hill Country endured one of the deadliest flash floods in its history. The Guadalupe River surged up to 26 ft in only 45 minutes, tragically claiming over 110 livesâmany of them childrenâand leaving more than 170 still missing. The communities are now in urgent recovery mode.
If youâre interested in providing a donation, here is one of the best organizations to go through:
The Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country has launched the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund, a 501(c)(3) initiative providing tax-deductible donations directly to vetted nonprofits, first responders, and local governments aiding flood-impacted communities like Hunt, Ingram, Kerrville, Center Point, and Comfort. All funds support on-the-ground relief, response, and recovery efforts.
Be cautious of scams â The Texas AG has issued warnings about fraudulent donation schemes. Please verify charity legitimacy via CharityWatch, GuideStar, or the Texas AGâs office before giving.
