šŸ RIP Charlie Kirk

Pilgrimage, Tim McGraw Concert, & More

Your guide to staying connected in Franklin, TN

Good afternoon Franklin.

Last week was heavy — we lost Charlie Kirk. Charlie was one of one. Irreplaceable. Bold in his faith and unafraid to speak hard truths.

Many of you have felt it: something is stirring across the country. Vigils have filled town squares and sanctuaries, including right here in Franklin where thousands gathered Sunday night to pray and worship. Across the nation churches are reporting overflowing services and record attendance in the days since Charlie’s assassination, as people look for hope and community in Jesus. Even from the White House, Vice President Vance hosted The Charlie Kirk Show and recited the Nicene Creed, giving public witness to the Christian faith. What the enemy intended for evil, God is using for good.

Charlie’s work is still bearing fruit. Turning Point USA, which previously had 2,100 chapters, has reported over 54,000 new chapter requests in the last week, already surpassing Charlie’s lifetime goal of 20,000. The Charlie Kirk Show has risen to the number one podcast in the world, drawing even greater attention to the message he championed.

I want to do what Charlie did at almost all of his events: share the Gospel. The gospel is the good news that God loves you and he sent Jesus Christ, who died for our sins and rose again, conquering death, so that there is now no condemnation for those who believe, but only eternal life and everlasting joy. As Tim Keller said, ā€œwe are more sinful and flawed in ourselves than we ever dared believe, yet at the very same time we are more loved and accepted in Jesus Christ than we ever dared hope.ā€ If you are curious about what life with Jesus looks like, reply to this email. If you haven’t been to Church in a while or have never been, this is an incredible time to get plugged in. I would be happy to recommend some great Churches in our community.

Much love to all of you.

Thousands Gathered for Charlie Kirk Vigil
On Sunday, September 14, thousands filled Franklin’s historic town square for a candlelight vigil honoring Charlie Kirk. Estimates put the crowd at over 3,000 people, standing shoulder to shoulder in prayer, song, and remembrance. What unfolded was not a political rally but a moving display of unity, faith, and gratitude for a man who devoted his life to advancing the values of faith, freedom, and service through his work with Turning Point USA.

The evening was marked by heartfelt tributes, scripture readings, and music from well-known voices including Kathy Lee Gifford, Matthew West, and Michael W. Smith. Organizers described the atmosphere as ā€œthe most inclusive thing I’ve ever been a part of,ā€ with neighbors handing out water, strangers embracing, and prayer circles forming throughout the square.

Franklin was not alone. Vigils were also held in Gallatin, Mt. Juliet, and across Middle Tennessee, with thousands more gathering to honor Kirk’s life and to stand for an end to political violence.
