Culinary Dropout Opening Date & More

Your guide to staying connected in Franklin, TN

Good afternoon Franklin.

I’d like to wish everyone a Happy Left-Handers Day! To my fellow lefties: today we honor our smudged notebooks, challenges with scissors, and battles with can openers.

We make up only 10% of the population but we are in good company: Ronald Reagan, George H. W. Bush, Paul McCartney, Justin Bieber, Julia Roberts, Keanu Reeves, Mark Twain, Leonardo da Vinci, Rafael Nadal, Messi, Bart Simpson, and Luke Skywalker.

Raise the Roof Event and Grand Reopening
Join Friends of Franklin Parks at The Park at Harlinsdale Farm for the 14th annual Raise the Roofs, featuring the grand reveal of the newly renovated main barn. Enjoy great food, drinks, live music, and an after party, with festivities kicking off at 5:30 p.m. Proceeds support the preservation and enhancement of Franklin’s parks and trails for generations to come.

Additionally, next week, the City of Franklin invites the public to a grand reopening of the Park at Harlinsdale Farm’s Main Barn. The Barn will be open to the public on Tuesday, August 19th at 4pm, at the Park at Harlinsdale Farm, 331 Franklin Rd., Franklin, TN.  Tours of the Barn will be held after the presentation and ribbon cutting.

Renovations Include:

  • Paved road around the barn with ADA parking

  • New roof and updated exterior siding

  • Landscaping improvements

  • Warming kitchen, new flooring, and drainage

  • Additional bathrooms and overhead-heaters

  • Fans for improved air circulation

  • Structural updates to meet code, enabling the barn to host events

Culinary Dropout Announces Opening Date
We shared a few weeks ago that Culinary Dropout is coming to Franklin. Now, an opening date has been announced: Wednesday, September 10th.

It’s going to be located at 4020 Aspen Grove in the McEwen Northside Development (North Italia, Perry’s, Blue Sushi). Culinary Dropout is known for its vibrant atmosphere featuring ice‑cold craft beers, house‑made cocktails, live local music, and a playful menu with crowd-pleasers like pretzel bites with provolone fondue, 36‑hour pork ribs, honey‑drizzled fried chicken, plus salads, sandwiches, and entrees like steak‑frites and roasted salmon.

You can also expect games, a welcoming bar scene, and private‑event spaces that echo the brand’s ā€œfood‑music‑funā€ ethos. It’s shaping up to be a lively new spot in Franklin for ā€œdamn good food, drinks, and live musicā€ā€”perfect for gatherings and weekend nights.

New Free Lunchtime Shuttle
Beginning September 15, Franklin Transit is launching a free pilot shuttle running every 15 minutes from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. between Downtown Franklin and The Factory, with stops at the Transit Center and Public Square. Designed to make lunch breaks, shopping, and exploring easier, the service offers a quick, car-free way to enjoy both destinations. This follows the success of the Saturday Farmers Market Shuttle and will not replace any existing transit routes.
