Your guide to staying connected in Franklin, TN

Good morning Franklin.

Last week, we hit the earliest sunset time of the year: 4:33pm. Not great. But hey, at least we’re not in Utqiagvik, Alaska, where the sun won’t rise at all for roughly 64 days straight as part of the Arctic polar night.

The good news is that it’s only improvement from here. At the end of December, we’re looking at 4:43pm sunsets and then, before we know it, it’ll be March 9th of 2026 and the sun will set at 6:50pm. Only 82 days away.

PopStroke Opening in Nashville
A brand-new PopStroke golf and entertainment venue is opening in Antioch’s Century Farms development on December 28, 2025. This golf-themed “eatertainment” venue is co-owned by golf legend Tiger Woods, alongside partners Greg Bartoli and TaylorMade Golf Company, bringing his influence to one of the region’s most anticipated new attractions.

Located at 4221 Century Farms Terrace, PopStroke Nashville combines mini golf, dining, drinks, and entertainment all in one spot. The Nashville site marks one of the brand’s largest and most ambitious projects yet, featuring three 18-hole mini golf courses (two indoors and one outdoors) and a full restaurant and bar experience designed for year-round fun.

PopStroke also offers an ice cream parlor with custom milkshakes, outdoor games, and tech-enabled fun through its mobile app, including food and drink delivery right to your group on the course.

Whether you’re planning a family day out, group gathering, date night, or birthday celebration, the new PopStroke brings a lively entertainment option just minutes from Franklin and the rest of Middle Tennessee.

Benjamin Franklin Statue
Franklin is marking a special moment in 2026 as the community prepares to unveil a new statue of Benjamin Franklin, the city’s namesake, with a celebration tied to his birthday.

The “Ben on the Bench” statue and a new historic marker will be officially revealed on January 17, 2026, which would have been Franklin’s 320th birthday. The installation is planned for downtown Franklin’s Five Points area, near the post office, honoring Franklin’s role as America’s first Postmaster General and recognizing the historical connection behind the city’s name.

The event, hosted in part by the Old Glory Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, is expected to be a meaningful community moment that brings together history, local pride, and a new public art landmark. Once unveiled, the statue will serve as a lasting reminder of Franklin’s influence on American history and his namesake connection to the city we call home.

New Franklin Housing Report
A new housing report for Franklin and the surrounding area highlights continued growth in the local housing market over the past five years, with projections showing both homeowner and renter populations expanding through 2030. The study notes that Franklin’s housing supply has been steadily increasing, including approvals and construction of more multifamily units such as apartments and townhomes, which is part of the reason more rental options are emerging.

According to the report, rental availability has seen modest improvement recently, giving renters slightly more options than in past years — though affordability challenges remain a concern for many residents as demand stays strong.

Local planners point out that Franklin’s population growth and housing development are expected to continue in the coming years, with efforts underway to support a wider range of housing types to help meet both current and future needs.
